The National Public Broadcasting Archives at the University of Maryland has a large collection of documents from Sesame Workshop (formerly The Children's Television Workshop), the producers of Sesame Street. They have public hours and offer research assistance. Phone: 301-405-9255



The Paley Center for Media (Formerly the Museum of Television and Radio) in both NY and Los Angeles has extensive Henson holdings that can be viewed in their libraries including some documentaries and rare early footage. For more information, see Paley Media Council.org



The Leland, Mississippi Chamber of Commerce has a small Jim Henson exhibit at their "Birthplace of the Frog" building on Deer Creek. It is open to the public and has images and information about Jim Henson's formative years and ensuing career. Phone: 800-467-3582



There is a traveling exhibition organized by The Strong Museum in Rochester, NY called "Can You Tell Me How To Get To Sesame Street". It is currently at the Minnesota Children’s Museum in St. Paul (through April 2008). They also have a permanent version of the show at the Strong Museum. There is a good PBS documentary on Jim Henson called "Great Performances: The World of Jim Henson". It is usually available for purchase on-line and may be available through your public library.
