Jim Henson’s The Dark Crystal: World of Myth and Magic exhibit opens at the Center for Puppetry Arts in Atlanta

The Center for Puppetry Arts showcased their rich collection of puppets and props from Jim Henson’s fantasy masterpiece, The Dark Crystal, in an immersive exhibition, running through November 2020. Augmented with loans of artwork, photography, and maquettes from The Jim Henson Company archives, the CPA’s fully restored puppets, and props were set within environments designed to feel like Thra, providing visitors with the experience of seeing these characters as they were on the screen. A gala Dark Crystal ball on August 20, 2018, the eve of Atlanta’s Dragon Con, celebrated the opening of the exhibit and featured themed food, music, and a costume competition.
